Ikouriers Automated Courier Branch
This is a full automated kiosk which can be used by courier companies to set up branches without requiring any additional staff. This solution allowed for unmanned kiosks to be installed close to where customers live so that they can send courier packages by comparing options between multiple courier companies.
The kiosk integrated hardware to enable the weight of the package to be read.
Technology Used
The kiosk ran on a Java app installed on Linux with a Rust language service used for integrating with the hardware such as the printer and the weighing scale.
The back-end service layer was written in Spring Boot an Java with a custom developed rules engine written in Groovy.
